Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Police officer and Rajja Chambers suspect, Wabwire Ivan, seen in handcuffs after being arrested for killing Indian moneylender, Uttam Bhandari, in Busia. (Read More Here).


Police officer Ivan Wabwire who shot and killed an Indian National at Raja Chambers on Friday 12 May has now been transferred to Central Police Station in Kampala from Busia where he was arrested today morning. 

Police Constable Wabwire Ivan suspected of shooting Indian money lender Uttam Bhandari at Rajja Chambers has been arrested by @PoliceUg's Busia Territory Police and the Police Flying Squad. 

Police Constable Ivan Wabwire seen on CCTV taking position in the office of TFS Financial Services at Raja Chambers, fires several shots before gunning down Uttam Bhandari, a moneylender, who he owed money according to Uganda Police Force. 

Bhandari, a money lender at Raja chambers along Parliamentary Avenue in Kampala was shot dead by Police Constable Ivan Wabwire at around 1pm.

Following the shooting incident, Katsigazi met with a delegation of the Indian business community living in Uganda, where he reassured police’s commitment to ensuring their security.

Addressing the leaders of the community, the DIGP emphasized that the shooting should not be regarded as a case of organised or targeted crime, but rather as an isolated incident.

He expressed the readiness of the police force to protect all business communities, urging them not to let this incident discourage them from conducting business.
