Meanwhile, her younger brother Louis - who turned five on St George's Day on April 23rd - looked regal in a bespoke outfit.

For the historic occasion, the young Prince is wearing an outfit made by Savile Row tailors Dege and Skinner which consists of a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic with specially designed lace work embellishment to the collar, cuffs and fronts. The leg garment is black complete with Garter Blue stripe.

After watching her grandfather be crowned King, she will accompany her siblings in the procession from the church after the ceremony.

She is then likely to join her family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Prince Louis, 5, is the youngest of William and Kate’s three children.

Due to his young age he will not have a large role in the coronation, but is expected to join his family in the procession and on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

It is not the youngsters’ first experience of a royal carriage procession, with the trio waving to crowds from a landau during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year.

In the first carriage behind them will be the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with George, Charlotte and Louis.

It will be the biggest public test for the three siblings, who are becoming increasingly confident under the eyes of the watching world.

Thousands gathered on the Mall this morning, as Charles III's day of destiny got underway. The historic first coronation of a British monarch in 70 years at Westminster Abbey saw just over 2,000 people arriving into Westminster Abbey this morning.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' two youngest children Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis stole the hearts of those who gathered on the Mall today, as they offered smiles en route to Westminster Abbey from Buckingham Palace for the Coronation.

Princess Charlotte, who turned eight this week, was seen sitting alongside her little brother Prince Louis, in a carriage with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Coronation of King Charles takes place today, marking one of the most historic events in many Britons’ lifetimes. The ceremony is due to start at 11am and will see family and friends of Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, foreign monarchs, politicians, world leaders, celebrities and everyday heroes in attendance at Westminster Abbey in London.

Some members of the royal family have also been given official roles in the ceremony, including Prince George, the eldest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales. The future king, nine, was seen travelling with his parents to the Abbey on Wednesday (May 3) for the rehearsal of the coronation where he has been given the duty of being one of his grandfather’s Pages of Honour.

The King and Queen Consort each have four Pages of Honour supporting them on the day of the coronation, including schoolboys who are family friends or close relatives. Prominent among them is Charles’ eldest grandson George – the youngest of the pages – and Camilla’s three grandsons.

The American Idol judge, 38, is among the celebrity guests who arrived at Westminster Abbey on Saturday morning to watch Charles anointed King before she takes to the stage to wow the monarch at the coronation concert on Sunday.

Grabbing everyone’s attention as she turned up to the service in a humongous pink hat, absolutely nailing the fashion stakes, Perry went from being a glamorous Hollywood icon to proving that actually she’s just like the rest of us with the very real struggle of finding her seat among the celeb-packed crowd.

‘Katy Perry not finding her seat is so me,’ cackled one viewer while someone else said they were ‘obsessed with Katy Perry trying to find her seat. And yes she looks stunning.’

‘The way she’s trying to look for her seat with that hat, it’s adorable and funny at the same time,’ one of her loyal fans noted with others were more concerned who would be sitting behind her and that hat.

Perry said she is 'really excited' for her 'wild' sleepover at the royal residence.

'I'm really excited… I might be posting a lot because I'm gonna be in a castle, for real. This is wild,' she told Extra TV.

Asked about her Coronation invite, she said: 'It was very regal. It was like a cursive I have never seen [before]… I loved it.'

Royal fans reacted on social media to Perry's hilarious moment in the historic abbey as well as the sheer size of her fascinator.

One said: 'Looks like everyone sitting near Katy Perry will be getting great 5G reception.' Alongside British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, the pop star was pictured arriving at the abbey this morning in a lilac head piece and a large pearl Vivienne Westwood choker.

It was also revealed today that she will stay at Windsor Castle tonight before performing tomorrow alongside music legend Lionel Richie, as well as Take That, Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli and Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel.
