XLabs says it received a Cease & Desist letter on behalf of Activision Publishing in relation to the X Labs project

Activision has shut down another community made Call of Duty project called XLabs with a cease and desist.

This client allowed people to play modded versions of previous COD titles like Black Ops 3.

Last week SM2 was also shut down by a cease and desist. Activision has killed another fan-run Call of Duty platform. #DramaAlert

X Labs was a tool that allowed people to play older COD games on PC with out worries of potential dangers, such as exploits that can install malware on a players computer.

The biggest issue with Activision shutting down mods like XLabs is that there is no safe alternative to play older Call of Duty games online anymore.

If you play old COD games on console you are putting yourself at serious risk because your personal information isn’t safe.

X Labs wrote: "Today, we have received a Cease & Desist letter on behalf of Activision Publishing in relation to the X Labs project. We are complying with this order and shutting down all operations permanently. Thank you all for your support over the years."
