Serious prayers, well wishes and heartfelt messages continue to pour in for hospitalized, South African writer, activist, and Nelson Mandela's granddaughter, Zoleka. Zoleka, took to her Instagram account to share her admission letter.
Author and activist Zoleka Mandela was admitted to hospital last week Saturday. She was diagnosed with stage three liver and lung cancer last year.
The mother of six usually shares regular health updates on her Instagram page, and in a recent post, she shared that she is currently receiving radiation to her spine and pelvis while awaiting chemotherapy.
She added: “For the progression of the cancer in my body, it’s going to be a long haul, but so appreciative of the efforts made toward the betterment of my health by the medical team and medical staff. I can’t wait to get back home to the kids! Peace. Passion. Positivity.”
In an interview on Point of View with Phemelo Motene on Kaya FM, the author revealed that she was preparing for her death. According to Zoleka, she met with her family, lawyer, and her therapist to discuss what life will be like for her children after her death.
"It will probably sound strange but, I think I am blessed or fortunate enough to be in a position where I am in my planning stages. I am having conversations with my loved ones, lawyer, therapist, and siblings to discuss what happens on the day and after I pass away," she said.
Zoleka discovered in 2022 that cancer had returned. She took to Instagram in 2022 to pen an emotional post where she shared that she was hanging by a thread after the official CT scan showed that she has cancer both in her liver and lungs.
"Yesterday (29.08.2022) marked my official diagnosis, the CT scan has revealed cancer both in my liver and lungs. I am yet to receive feedback regarding my Bone scan, to establish whether I have cancer beyond my ribs. I am hanging on by a thread.
She also thanked all who have been praying for her recovery. "Thank you all for your outpouring of love, prayer, and support. Peace. Passion. Positivity," she wrote
