The Met Police to investigate after video of Tories politicians dancing and drinking during Partygate at Covid-19 lockdown goes viral.

The Tories face the threat of new Partygate police probe as previously unseen footage shows staff boozing, dancing and mocking lockdown laws at the height of Covid.

A bombshell video exposes for the first time how officials joked about their lockdown rule-bending Christmas bash at the Conservative Campaign Headquarters in London.

At least 24 revellers were there and, shockingly, they include two named on ex-PM Boris Johnson’s controversial resignation honours list.

In the exclusive footage, two dancers even twirl past a sign saying “Please keep your distance”.

It will infuriate families who lost relatives in Covid and will reignite criticism of Mr Johnson just days after he was slammed for misleading MPs over parties at No10.

The main finding is that he deliberately misled the House of Commons by repeatedly telling it, after the Partygate scandal emerged, that Covid rules had been followed at all times in Downing Street.

He has already admitted MPs were misled by his original statements, but he says he believed them to be true at the time, and they were based on assurances he had received from officials.

However, the report found he had "personal knowledge" of breaches of the rules and guidance in No 10.

And it added he failed to proactively seek out "authoritative" assurances about compliance, which it said amounted to a "deliberate closing of his mind".

It concluded it was "highly unlikely" he had really believed the assurances he gave at the time, "still less that he could continue to believe them to this day".

The long-anticipated report by MPs into whether Boris Johnson misled Parliament over Covid lockdown parties in No 10 is finally out.

The report by the seven-member privileges committee followed a year-long investigation and runs to 106 pages.

The former prime minister stood down as an MP last week after receiving an advance copy, angrily accusing the committee of bias. One person is heard saying it is OK to film "as long as we don't stream that we're, like, bending the rules".

The video, published by the Mirror, dates from December 2020 when London was in Tier 2 restrictions.

Housing Secretary Michael Gove has apologised for the video, saying it is "indefensible". The Conservative Party said four people were disciplined, but it's not clear who they are.
