Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Movie promotion on point as giant Barbie 3D ad near Burj Khalifa in Dubai goes viral.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has garnered all the love from people and racked up impressive numbers at the box office. The movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is all about the popular doll made by Mattel. By now, you probably have come across tons of interesting marketing specimens from the Barbie team.

While pink has become the colour of the season, there is one video that is dropping jaws all over the internet. The video features the OG Barbie wearing her iconic white-black swimsuit and stepping out of a pink box. A quick scan of the background shows Dubai’s iconic skyscraper, Burj Khalifa, as well!


Rupani, who co-founded the company with her mother Simran Rupani, five years ago, says she and her team came up with the video during their daily brainstorming sessions.

"As a social media agency, we're always thinking about what's trending, and everyone is currently talking about Barbie," she says. "So we thought of doing something around an iconic product and putting her next to the most iconic landmark in Dubai."

Dressed to impress, Barbie is shown in a striped romper with her blonde locks in a ponytail - an outfit which is virtually identical to her 1959 debut.

If that weren’t enough, the doll even comes with her own bright pink box which she smashes through as she steps out onto the streets of Dubai.

The impressive clip is the brainchild of Eye Studio (@eyestudioae), a boutique creative agency based in the UAE. According to the National though, they soon realised that ‘nothing beats the Burj Khalifa’ and ended up filming the clip on an iPhone before superimposing Barbie.

Understandably, fans have been excited to see the doll next to Dubai’s iconic landmark as the hype around Barbie continues to build in the country.

In fact, it has been liked over 183,000 times since it was first shared on Instagram last week.
