Amid a summer with hundreds of soccer transfers, one of the most followed soccer insiders in the world is apparently taking his talents to one of the rising stars in streaming.
On Monday, Kick.com announced that they have agreed to terms with Fabrizio Romano for him to stream on their platform. Romano is most well-known for his breaking news on X/Twitter, but also streams regularly on Twitch to over 500,000 followers.
Fabrizio confirms Mbappe to Real Madrid news
That does make things easier for Real Madrid regarding any possible move for Mbappe in the future. At the same time though, they would have to shell out a huge transfer fee if they want to sign him this summer.
Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and is arguably going to be the face of football, now that both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have left Europe. Thus, it is justified for PSG to ask for a big transfer fee.
At the same time, it would make much more sense for Real Madrid to wait another year. And try to sign him as a free agent next summer, if he is available.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Kick has spent the past year growing rapidly by signing popular personalities across all entertainment media to lucrative contracts - not all of which are even exclusive.
Among the biggest names the platform has featured are singer-songwriter Drake, chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura and popular streamers Adin Ross. Perhaps their biggest move was inking Twitch streamer and former Esports professional xQc to a $100 million contract.
The situation of Kylian Mbappe is something that Real Madrid will be keeping a close eye on. The Frenchman does not want to extend his contract with PSG, which runs out in the summer of 2024. On the other hand, the Ligue 1 champions want him to agree a new deal soon or they are ready to transfer him in the ongoing summer window.
Thus, it is a very interesting situation to say the least. Of course, all parties will need to agree for a transfer to take place. So, Mbappe holds most of the cards at this point of time.
If Mbappe does leave PSG this summer, his most likely destination seems to be Real Madrid. But many fans fear that the French club would not want to agree a deal with Los Blancos, as the relationship between the two teams is believed to be complicated.
