Somalia's Ministry of Sports and Youth pledged to investigate the selection process that led to an unprepared athlete to represent the country at the International Federation of University Sports' (FISU) World University Games in Chengdu, China. The controversy is linked to Nasra Abukar, a 20-year-old with little running experience, who finished last in the 100m race, sparking criticism, especially from Somalis around the world.
