VIDEO: House Republican, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, yelled DAMN RIGHT when Rep. Pete Aguilar said that Mike Johnson was an architect of the effort to overturn the 2020 election

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that House Republican, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, yelled DAMN RIGHT when Rep. Pete Aguilar said that Johnson was an architect of the effort to overturn the 2020 election.

Johnson, who is serving his fourth term in the House, supported overturning the 2020 election results. He is a strong opponent of abortion rights, same-sex marriage and a climate change denier.

Johnson won the speakership with 220 votes, all from Republicans. Every Democrat who voted supported House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for the speakership.

Johnson was chosen as a speaker nominee after Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), facing strong opposition from former President Donald Trump and his supporters, withdrew his nomination just over four hours after winning it. Johnson was Republicans’ fourth House speaker nominee since former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was ousted earlier this month.

Aguilar accused House Republicans of putting "their names behind someone who has been called the most important architect of the electoral college objections."

"Damn right!" Luna shouted.

"That's fair," Aguilar replied. "We know how you feel. You've made that clear."

In an outburst on the House floor, right-wing Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) praised Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) for his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

While nominating Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA) took a shot at the record of the Republican nominee for speaker of the House.

"Has this been about a focus of House Republicans, to find the person who can pass their extreme litmus test to oppose marriage equality, enact a nationwide abortion ban without exceptions, gut Social Security and Medicare, and support overturning a free and fair election?" Aguilar asked to jeers from Republicans.
