The workers of Sibanye - Stillwater's 7 Shaft were shocked by the action of a man who killed his colleague. He tore open his stomach and took out his intestines, which remained outside and took a selfie with his phone.

Man brutally murders a colleague in front of co-workers.

In an absolutely bizarre unfolding of events, a man who is said to have been an employee of Sibanye-Stillwater's 7 Shaft, allegedly beheaded and cut open the abdomen of one of his colleagues this afternoon.

One of many very traumatised eyewitnesses, who wishes to remain anonymous, spoke to the Merafong Observer about the incident.

"The victim had gone into the medical aid offices at the shaft, and as he walked out toward his vehicle in the parking lot to get his clock card, the suspect allegedly attacked him."

He says that the suspect had two knives on him. One big knife and one smaller one. "He first stabbed the victim in his side, and the next thing we saw he was cutting off the victim's head." The man then allegedly kicked the suspect's head away from his body.

The eyewitness explains that the suspect was extremely casual and calm as he did stuff one would only witness in horror films.

"He then proceeded to cut open the abdomen of the victim and ate something from the man's gut. When all these shocking things were done, the man took out his cellphone, sat next to the victim's body and took selfies. We were shocked," tells a shaken witness.

He told the Observer that the victim, at some point, had run toward the security guards at the entrance to the shaft, but they had declined him entry. "This was really bad, he may still have been alive had they let him in. Instead, we all watched the most horrific murder unfold before our very eyes."

The suspect apparently made no effort to flee from the scene at all. "The police were called, but by the time I left, they had not yet arrived at the scene."

The witness who spoke out said that everyone who witnessed this was extremely traumatised and that plans had already started unfolding to get them professional counselling.

The Merafong Observer had not been able to reach anyone at the Westonaria SAPS or even the province for comments on this.
