Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that 44-year-old illegal immigrant, Sahil Omar, is one of the shooters as he was seen wearing a red hoodie and red pants after being arrested during KC Chiefs celebration in Kansas.

Several paradegoers within earshot noticed this, and called out to others to halt his progress. Contreras heard these calls, and did not think twice before launching himself at the suspect, he said.

Officers, meanwhile, have said they have cuffed two others - but have yet to contact Contreras, he said. He recalled how a gun dropped from the suspect's hands, after cops said they confiscated at least one assault-style weapon from one of the scenes. Their probe remains ongoing, with all suspects now detained.

Paul said he and his three daughters thought they heard fireworks but it turned out to be gunfire.

That's when Paul saw a man running another man chasing him and yelling for someone to stop him.

"I didn't hesitate," Paul said.

He said he saw a gun fall out of the alleged shooter's hand, as he and another bystander tackled him.

"The whole time he's fighting to get up and run away," Paul said. "We're fighting each other, you know. We're fighting to keep him down and he's fighting to get up."

Paul said it only took seconds for police to step in but it felt like forever. The dutiful dad continued: 'I didn't think about it. It's just a reaction. I didn't hesitate - just do it.'

Eventually, after what he said seemed like an eternity, cops came to assist the Good Samaritan.

He went on to describe the entire ordeal in-depth, recalling how he and one other man took it upon themselves to protect the rest of the crowd moments after gunfire had broken out.

Contreras told his homestation KETV 7 Omaha: 'So I went to go tackle him and another gentleman did the same thing.

'And as I’m tackling him,' he continued, I see there’s a weapon that either fell out his hand, or out of his sleeve – because he was wearing a long jacket, like a Carhartt.'
