A married couple, Violeta-Cristina Ionescu and George-Elvis Tobasaru, have appeared at the Old Bailey accused of murdering a man, Baboi, who was allegedly beaten to death with a wooden club in woodland

A married couple have appeared at the Old Bailey accused of murdering a man who was allegedly beaten to death with a wooden club in woodland.

Violeta-Cristina Ionescu 21 and George-Elvis Tobasaru 22 are charged over the death of a 39-yr-old Romanian man they known as Baboi.

It is alleged Tobasaru beat the man to death with a wooden bat or club in a dispute over his wife, Ionescu. 

Police and the London Ambulance Service had been called just after 9pm on Feb 15 to reports of an injured man in a wooded area near to Walthamstow Avenue in Chingford.
