Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Magneto voice actor, José Santa Cruz, is dead.
Actor, comedian and radio host José Santa Cruz died this Friday (26) , aged 95. He was also considered one of the greatest Brazilian voice actors.
Throughout his career, he has worked on programs such as A Praça é Nossa and Zorra Total . As a voice actor, he gave voice to Dino da Silva Sauro, from “Família Dinossauros”; Magneto, from “X-Men”; Hagrid, from “Harry Potter”; Mr. Omar, from “Everybody Hates Chris” , as well as many others.
Born in 1929, in Picuí, Paraíba, Cruz began working at radio Tabajara, migrating to other radio stations until arriving at TV Tupi Rio, in 1963, where he played Jojoca on the program A, E, I, O… Urca.
In 1973, he joined the Herbert Richers dubbing studio. Still on television, he acted in the soap opera “Espelho da Vida” (2019), in addition to being part of Zorra (2020), a reformulated humorous program on TV Globo.
In addition to his successful career, José Santa Cruz maintained a 72-year marriage with Ivane Maria Mendes , who passed away this year. Throughout their union, the couple had three children, Elaine Maria , Eliane Maria and Eduardo Luiz , who are also dead. The artist leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
