e FBI said Robinson’s own father, with the help of a minister, convinced him to turn himself in after family recognized him from FBI images.
“The killer then confessed to his father, who is a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department,” reportedly. “His father then contacted authorities and secured his son before he could be taken into custody.”
Robinson was arrested in St. George, Utah — 250 miles from the campus where Kirk was killed during a debate. Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed the state will pursue the death penalty, calling it one of the most high-profile cases Utah has faced in decades.
