An 18-year-old man was stabbed to death on the evening of Wednesday, October 1st, in Pontoise, Val-d’Oise. The incident occurred in the Hauts de Marcouville underground car park. A suspect was taken into custody on Thursday, October 2nd, by the public prosecutor.
“One person has been arrested,” said Pontoise prosecutor Guirec Le Bras, confirming a report from the daily newspaper Le Parisien , without providing further details on the arrest.
The fire brigade was alerted by passers-by on Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. in the same Hauts de Marcouville district “to a victim lying on the ground after having been stabbed several times with a bladed weapon,” the prosecutor said.
The young man, a native of the city, was taken to hospital with a very serious life-threatening condition and died at 9:10 p.m., according to the same source. Rescuers were trying to evacuate him to Bichat Hospital in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The Organized Crime Control Division (DCOS) of the Val-d’Oise National Police Interdepartmental Directorate has been seized of a criminal investigation into intentional homicide. Investigators will seek to determine what happened in the parking lot and identify the person or persons responsible.
