Although the actor’s run was cut short due to a reboot plan being tinkered up between Sony and Marvel Studios, both Garfield and Maguire made their return to the franchise via a multiverse aka spiderverse storyline in No Way Home.

At a special screening of Across the Spider-Verse in London, Garfield appeared to talk about the film (via @CultureVrave on X). He got to moderate a conversation about the film and cited the latest animated Spider-Man as “a masterpiece of pure cinema without any separation.”

“I think we can all agree”. Since then, fans of the wall-crawling hero have been demanding that Sony finally make an Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Garfield at the helm – a sequel that has been long desired by the Marvel fandom.

Across the Spider-Verse grossed even more, making $690 million this year during its theatrical run. It will likely be in contention for Oscars as well just like its predecessor.

Despite there being no official announcements, rumours of Garfield and Maguire having a role in the upcoming animated sequel Beyond the Spider-Verse have run rampant across the web for months.
