Former Super Eagles defender, Ajibade Babalade, has passed away in Ibadan, Oyo state after suffering from cardiac arrest. He died on Friday at the age of 52.
According to Wikipedia, he passed away at the age of 48. In 2018, Ajibade Babalade and his invitees gathered together for his 50th birthday.
He’s survived by his wife and his three children, who live in the United States. His death was announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) via Twitter.
“We are sad to announce the shock demise of former @NGSuperEagles defender Ajibade Babalade. Babalade died of cardiac arrest today in Ibadan. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Our prayers are with his family,” NFF tweeted.
On the 29th of March, 2019, Ajibade celebrated his 51st birthday with a thanksgiving caption, and it reads, “The Almighty God have added another year to my year. What can I say unto the Lord, all I have to say is thank you Lord. It’s my birthday and I wish myself long life and prosperity, age gracefully.”
Late Ajibade was part of the Super Eagles players that won the bronze medal during the 1992 African Cup of Nations in Senegal. May his soul rest in peace.
