According to the BPI report, 159 billion songs were streamed in the UK in 2022, an increase of 8.2% compared to 2021..



and more than double the volume of audio streams recorded five years ago – and more 40 times greater than a decade ago.


Vinyl sales increased 2.9% in 2022 to 5.5 million units – marking the 15th consecutive year of growth for the once-dead format..


CD sales fell 19.3% this year to 11.6 million units, cassettes rose 5.2% to 195K units. The UK is the world’s third-largest market for recorded music, behind the US & Japan, with sales of just over $1.8 billion in commercial value, according to IFPI’s 2022 Global Music Report.
