Issa Rae becomes the first person in 114 years to receive 'The Key To The City of Inglewood

The native made sure she highlighted her city on her show ‘Insecure,’ and for all that she’s accomplished in her career, the city is now highlighting the talented mogul. Every celeb desires to receive a key to their city, and now Issa has hers. 

Yesterday during the ‘Taste of Inglewood’ festival, Issa received the key to Inglewood, making her FIRST person in the city’s 114 years of incorporation, according to @people. During the event, Mayor James T. Butts presented the key to Issa, who he called “the queen of Inglewood.

In a speech, Issa spoke about receiving the key, stating, “I’m a little emotional, I’m trying to be a thug right now.
