Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Suspect, Porter Zyere Jakay, arrested after he unalived Pretty Pre in Boom Island park shooting.

Boom Island mass shooting arrest:

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that 23‑year‑old Zyere Porter was arrested today in connection with the deadly June 1 mass shooting at Boom Island Park. READ MORE HERE

At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, Minneapolis Police executed a search warrant in the 7800 block of Terrace Road NE, Spring Lake Park. The arrest was made without incident, and Porter was booked into Hennepin County Jail on suspicion of murder.

“I am grateful for the thorough and dedicated investigative work that led to the arrest of this individual,” said Chief O’Hara. “As the investigation proceeds, I hope this arrest brings some level of justice and comfort to the victims and their loved ones.”

The shooting occurred on the night of June 1 at Boom Island Park, where a large group had gathered for what appeared to be a barbecue. Gunfire erupted just after 9:30 p.m.

Twenty-three-year-old Stageina Katraya Shapryia Whiting of Brooklyn Center was shot and later died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the torso. Five other people were also shot—four men suffered non-life-threatening injuries, one man sustained life-threatening wounds, and a second woman was reportedly injured in the chaos.

The investigation remains active.
