According to Tom Raddy of The Times, Arsenal are set to send a second bid for Chelsea superstar Kai Havertz. The amount will be in excess of €55 million.

The Gunners are looking to add Havertz to the squad. While the German also attracted Real Madrid’s interest, Los Blancos have cooled down their pursuit of the attacker.

Real Madrid are also keen on the 24-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward. Los Blancos are on the hunt for a new striker following the departure of Karim Benzema this summer. Madrid have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe as well.

Havertz made 30 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea this past season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in the process. The Chelsea no. 29 also made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League this past campaign, scoring two goals in the process.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their attacking options this summer and believe the versatile Havertz could fill a number of different roles in Mikel Arteta’s flexible line-up, including the No.8 position the departing Granit Xhaka made his own last season.

Person terms are unlikely to be an issue and Arsenal hope to wrap a deal for Havertz before turning their attention to agreeing a fee with West Ham for their captain Declan Rice.
