Dear Tuskies community
We have been made aware of a video taken during the Big Brag where a leamer used a very hurtful racial slur. As a school, we do not take this lightly. We acknowledge that this word causes deep pain to large parts of our community, and it is completely unacceptable.

“The learner responsible, along with her parents, has been informed that the school will be following our disciplinary procedure, in accordance with our school Code of Conduct. This means the school will not be able to comment on the process or the outcome.
We want to assure all parties that we are committed to stamping out this type of behaviour and to working with our learners to understand the real consequences of such incidents.
We request that any leamer or parent who has received the video please delete it immediately and refrain from sharing it. Sharing this content is, in our view, partaking in the offence, and it only causes further harm.
Mr Mosdell will also be addressing this matter in Thursday’s assembly, as ALL our leamers need to under-stand that such behaviour is not acceptable.
