After eight years Ubisoft has got the art of announcing new content for Rainbow Six Siege figured out. At the annual Six Invitational, a panel of devs slowly reveals new content piece by piece, starting with the smaller stuff before ending with the big reveal of a new character. But this year things were a little different, with the reveal of new operator Deimos losing the main event spot to an appearance from Nicholas “Jynxzi” Stewart, a Rainbow Six streamer who streamed to no viewers for over a year before finally reaching the top of Twitch.

Jynxzi is currently the most subscribed streamer on Twitch, beating out second place by over 60,000 subs according to Twitch Tracker. His rise to the top has been rapid, built off his loud and excited onscreen personality that creates many clipable moments, which get shared well beyond his live broadcasts. But just a couple of years ago he was a complete unknown, streaming to single-figure viewers for months before he started to gain traction. For many the lack of instant success would be enough to call it quits and move on, but deep down Jynxzi knew he was destined for the top.
