According to Caldwell's mother, she says that Reche was going on a date with his lovely girlfriend but went back inside to get a jacket.
His girlfriend continued by saying that Reche was ambushed by "A couple of people" who jumped out the bushes around them and tried to rob Reche. In the process, he was shot in his chest and leg.
Caldwell's mother says that Donald Reche died in the ambulance while on his way to the hospital. He couldn't survive the attack due to the severe injuries he sustained. He died at aged 41.
