Former Presidential aide, Doyin Okupe apologises to Igbo for his reckless tweet

Former Presidential aide of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has apologised for his reckless tweet concerning Igbos yesterday.
Doyin Okupe was roasted by Igbos and other tribes after he made a ridiculous tweet yesterday.

Taking to his Twitter page, Doyin Okupe, gave a reason why Igbo people or an Igbo person can't win the presidency. According to him, he says the North or Northerners haven't forgiven the Igbos for the killing of Sardauna of Sokoto. The killing of Sardauna of Sokoto happened during the civil war in 1966.

Doyin indirectly told Igbos that the Northerners won't vote for any Igbo Presidential candidate because of the death of Sardauna of Sokoto. He wrote: "A National consensus for Igbo presidency cannot evolve until the core North forgives the Igbo for the killing of Sardauna of Sokoto by Nigerian soldiers of Igbo extraction in the 1966 Coup.

After making the tweet, a lot of Igbos and non-Igbo people in Nigeria began to slam Doyin Okupe over his tweet. A few hours later, he took to his Twitter page again to apologise to Igbo people. He wrote:

"OPEN APOLOGY TO THE IGBOS.
I tender my unreserved apology to the Igbos & other Nigerians who felt offended by my post on Igbo presidency and the North. I never intended to hurt or demean the Igbos. Instead I wanted to help the Igbos actualize the dream. I regret the said post, & I am truly sorry."
