VIDEO: Professor Pat Utomi steps down for his rival, Peter Obi, to become flag bearer of Labour Party in Asaba, Delta state

A presidential aspirant in Labour Party, Professor Pat Utomi, has stepped down for his rival, Peter Obi, in the race for the party’s nomination as its candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections.  (Read More Here).

Utomi announced that he was stepping down for Obi, former Anambra State governor, on Monday at the venue of the party’s presidential primary in Asaba, Delta State capital.

Obi joined Labour Party a few days ago after resigning from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where he was the running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election.

Recall that Obi resigned from the PDP to join Labour Party after the National Consultative Front (NCFront) adopted the party as its mega party for ‘3rd Force’ stakeholders and allies for the 2023 elections.

NCFront is the umbrella body of the ‘3rd Force’ which describes itself as a ‘Movement and Political Alternative’ to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the PDP.

It hopes to mobilise a coalition of forces and Nigerian youths to unseat the dominance of the two major political parties.
