Zambian poet, Musenga Katongo MessenJah, wins intentional poetry competition in Scotland.

Zambian poet Musenga Katongo, alias MessenJah, has raised the country's flag higher after winning his second international poetry slam(competition) held in Scotland last evening.

The Colour Culture Arts founder won the coveted international poetry competition after beating six other contestants through an impressively crafted poem titled "Same Walk, New Adventure".

In 2019, Katongo, a spoken word artiste and entrepreneur, took part in his first international slam dubbed, The Intwasa Poetry Slam, which was part of the Intwasa Arts Festival held in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where he emerged victorious.

The former University of Zambia student is currently in Scotland attending a
three-month arts programme, fully funded through the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Youth Programme.
