Meghan Markle is taking the Spotify charts by storm after her new podcast “Archetypes” took the top spot this week and subsequently dethroned “The Joe Rogan Experience” in several countries including the UK and U.S. 

“Archetypes” only premiered on Wednesday, but as they say, numbers don’t lie, and according to the stats, she has also secured the No. 1 spot in Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand.

This is quite the achievement for Markle given that Rogan had acquired the top position on the U.S. charts for THREE years — even in the midst of allegations he had spread misinformation regarding Covid-19. Each of his episodes average around 11 million listeners, according to The Hollywood Reporter, so one can only imagine the numbers Markle’s podcast is pulling in for it to steadily hold onto the first spot.

The former “Suits” actress plans to continue using her podcast to explore and subvert the labels that have tried to hold women back in the past. Fo her first episode, Markle was joined by her friend and tennis champ Serena Williams as they discussed how the word “ambitious” has been used in a derogatory manner against female athletes in professional sport
