So you all remember while back when DK was arrested over his involvement in fraud, right?
So DK jumped bail just before covid. He came to chill off in Naija and somehow he assumed the case was over. So after Covid, he decided to travel back to the US.
Upon landing in the US, he was arrested at the airport, charged to court and was jailed.
While in jail, DK reached out to David and some of the 30BG key members that he [DK] was been s#xually molested in jail by some of his inmates and also pleaded with David to help him get out as quick as he can. But we all know David cannot help get anyone out of prison if indeed the person has been found guilty especially in the US. His status, “Son of Adeleke” does not spread to that side. In Naija, yes he has influence but in the US, no one is above the law. Yes his status as an one of the biggest Afro beat artist is recognised globally but that does not put him above the law. Plus from what our source told us, I don’t think David was or is ready to risk his brand over DK’s fraud issue with the authorities in the US. We should remember apart from Naija, David makes most of his money as an artist in the US and none-sense move can hugely affect his brand negatively despite him been born an American.
Well fast forward, DK served his jail term and was deported after he completing his jail term. Some People close him said the s#xual molestation in the prison has affected his psyche negatively and he has never stopped blaming David “for leaving him in there to be in prison so long” and that he begged David to try and pay a top class lawyer to try and get him out of prison but David didn’t do. [I honestly think there was nothing he could do].
Fast forward to this money issue, yes DK & David did some works together which DK funded some. But it wasn’t agreed for David to pay those monies back as David also did some free works for DK. Well them say in music, they ve something called SPREADHSHEET. Where percentages etc are written out. David and DK have never had such. So technically no one owes anybody. Artists, do proper contacts when it comes to business. A word to the wise
