An Ohio kidnapping suspect attempted to stab a police officer with a pen before he was quickly taken down, authorities released the footage of the attack on Thursday.

Reid Duran was taken into custody after allegedly acting as a parent during an open house at Saint Brigid School in Xenia. 

The school’s principal noticed Duran and said he was acting in an odd manner on the premises and called 911 to report a trespasser, telling the dispatcher that the intruder was “posing a threat.”

According to police, Duran told detectives that he had plotted to abduct a 5-year-old girl from the school, after offering her Starburst candy coated with a tranquilizer, “to obtain sexual favors.”
