While dealing with a divorce, a Washington woman was kidnapped and buried alive by her estranged husband.

Young An,42, was reported missing on Oct.16 after she was reportedly kidnapped by her estranged husband, Chae An, 52. Authorities responded to a 911 call about a woman who was heard screaming and sounded “gagged,” as reported by TOO FAB. When officers entered the home in Lacey, Young’s home showed a sign of disturbance, and the couple’s children explained to police that their parents were dealing with a divorce. They also said they saw their father’s van in the driveway and said he would usually stop by to do laundry.

Hours later, Young was found hiding behind a shed on a home’s property on Oct. 17 around 1 am. Investigators said she was covered in dirt and had duct tape around her neck, face, and ankles, in addition to multiple bruises to her legs, arms, and head.
