The head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed this Tuesday, November 8, that the capital prosecutor 's office opened an investigation folder to clarify the case of the child Abner, under 6 years old, drowned in the Williams School.

At a press conference, Sheinbaum explained that he spoke with Abner's father, who asked him to open a new line of investigation because he does not agree with the College's version.

For this reason, the president of the capital reiterated that the Government of CDMX will offer its support to the relatives to clarify the case: "on our part, offer all our support to the family, our solidarity for this unfortunate event, very sad."

At the same time, the CDMX Prosecutor's Office announced that it has already opened an investigation folder for the crime of manslaughter , after a student lost his life. He also explained that comprehensive care will be provided to the victim's family.

Abner, just six years old, drowned while taking his swimming class at the Williams School in Mexico City.

The boy's father reported the events in a video posted on Twitter on November 7 at night. There he recounts that Abner entered the school at 7:30 am to take his swimming class and two hours later they called him to notify him of an incident without going into details.

"He came in, we said goodbye, they told us at 9:30 at school that my son had had a mishap in the pool, they didn't give us more information, they didn't tell us what had happened, we asked for explanations," he narrates between sobs.

Lorena Álvarez, the minor's aunt, accused the Williams School of hiding the alleged negligence of its staff and of not clarifying the events that occurred within its facilities.

It was not until early Tuesday morning that the institution sent a brief statement to the community of mothers and fathers in which it reported on Abner's death and indicated that it would contribute to the authorities in the investigation of the case.
