He has worked for the Chicago Police Department since November 2017, according to the City of Chicago's database for public employees. Officer Henry Capouch, 30, was charged with simple battery and disorderly conduct in the incident at Jimmy B's Bar at the Beachcomber Hotel in St. Pete Beach, Florida.

According to a Pinellas County, Florida complaint and arrest affidavit, a bar employee was trying to get ice from the ice machine at the bar when he found Capouch "pissing" on the ice in the machine, the report said.

When the employee told Capouch to stop, Capouch began swearing at the employee and pushed the employee with both hands "a couple of times," the report said. Capouch also pushed a security guard, the report said.

Local police came, and the employee directed them to Capouch, who was on the beach with his girlfriend, the report said. While being arrested, Capouch actively resisted and did not obey commands – instead going on yelling and keeping standing when told multiple times to sit, the report said.

Chicago Police said Capouch has been relieved of police powers pending an internal investigation.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to Jimmy B’s Beach Bar at the Beachcomber Hotel in the 6200 block of Gulf Boulevard for a report of disorderly conduct, records show. An employee was going to get ice from the ice machine when he came upon Capouch “pissing” in the machine.

When the employee told him to stop, Capouch began yelling at the employee and then pushed him, records show. Capouch allegedly also pushed a security guard and resisted arrest.

The worker asked Capouch to stop, but the officer swore at and shoved him “a couple of times,” according to the arrest document.

A deputy, who responded to the bar around 12:30 a.m., was escorted by the worker and security to the beach, where Capouch and his girlfriend were sitting.

Officers wrote in their report that Capouch was “actively resisting,” and refused to follow the deputy’s commands as they attempted to detain him.

Capouch’s decision to allegedly relieve himself in the machine may have been influenced by alcohol, officers noted in the documents.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and simple battery.

Capouch is a five-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, WGN reported. The department has opened an internal investigation into the incident, a CPD spokesperson confirmed to the outlet
