The former One Direction member announced the news in his Spotify bio. Cleverly hidden in the paragraph, there is a sentence that says: “Zayn is currently working on his highly anticipated fourth studio album.”
The announcement that a new album in the works comes almost two years since Zayn shared his ‘Nobody Is Listening’ album.
The project failed to reach the top 40 of the Billboard 200 chart, but it did score a moderate hit in ‘Better.’
There is currently no word as to when his next album will be released.
The father of one, who shares daughter Khai with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, has three previous albums — 2016’s Mind of Mine, 2018’s Icarus and 2021’s Nobody is Listening.
Additionally, he also released a solo project called Yellow Tape in September 2021, when he dropped a Dropbox link on Twitter, giving fans access to multiple rap songs including tracks “Believe Me” and “Grimez,” as well as another titled “Yellow Tape 47.”
“These masterpieces deserve to be released officially!!!!!!” one person gushed on Twitter. “Those were amazing! OMG. Zayn, you did that,” added another. To make things even sweeter, it sounds like Zayn opened up about his experience with fatherhood in the track “Believe Me.”
Zayn and Gigi welcomed Khai in September 2020. “Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful,” the “Pillowtalk” artist announced on Instagram at the time. “To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine and thankful for the life we will have together.”
For Gigi’s part, she shared a heartwarming annoucement of her own, writing, “Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love.”
