Angela Nikolau has revealed her process of climbing the Merdeka 118 building on Twitter, calling it the "hardest climb" of her life

Angela Nikolau has revealed her process of climbing the Merdeka 118 building on Twitter, calling it the "hardest climb" of her life.

This includes weeks of surveilling the building, hiding in a small concrete box for over 20 hours, and climbing the 53-floor high spire.

News of Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus' climb first broke out on Dec 26, when Beerkus posted about it on the SkyscraperCity site.

Police are now investigating the couple for trespassing, and probing if the video of their climb is authentic or digitally modified.

When recounting her climb, Nikolau said she rented an apartment with a good view of the tower, and spent weeks finding out details about the building.

She disguised herself in a hijab, glasses and builder’s uniform to enter the building. Nikolau claimed to have ran up the first 32 floors and got overheated. She then lay naked on the concrete floor to cool down and drink water.

However, she said she was detected, and then hid in a concrete box where she spent over 20 hours inside. "I couldn't stretch my legs and my whole body was stiff and aching. I couln't even cry because the workers were right next to me and they could hear my sobs and hand me over to security. Worst time of my life," wrote Nikolau.

She then took the chance to complete her climb when the workers were on a break.

"My spirits rose when I saw the view! It was raining season so I expected milky clouds and a grey landscape. It was my personal miracle. I felt wake and powerful again. It was all worth it!"

At the end of her Twitter thread, Nikolau said she was dropping a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) dedicated to Merdeka, presumably of a photo she captured while atop the spire of Merdeka 118.

There were a mixture of comments on her thread. Some criticised her for misusing a hijab.
