Law minister Azalina Othman has condemned the case of a 16-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a police inspector in Kedah

Trigger Warning: Rape and child sexual abuse.

1. Law minister Azalina Othman has condemned the case of a 16-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a police inspector in Kedah.

The officer was reportedly looking into a separate rape case involving the girl and her stepfather.

A teenage girl filed a police report after claiming to be a rape victim by an inspector-ranked officer while at a District Police Headquarters (IPD), near here last Wednesday. The police report was made by the 16-year-old teenager involved last Saturday and he claimed to have been raped by the inspector while in the officer's office at the IPD at about 6.30pm. Sources said that the victim was initially called by the 30-year-old inspector to the IPD to assist in the investigation regarding a rape case involving the teenager who was said to have been committed by her stepfather.

"While in the room, the inspector who is also the investigating officer of the case involving the teenage girl told him that he wanted to do an examination on the victim's genitals. "The victim at that time was sitting on a chair and the officer then asked him to cross his legs to facilitate the examination of him," he said. According to the source, the police officer then held the victim's private parts and asked him to lie on the bed in the room in a naked state," he said. According to him, at the same time the officer failed to control the lust of raping the teenager involved.

"The police officer gave the reason that the tool used to check on the victim failed to function properly. "Despite being afraid, the victim could not do anything and could only allow his body to be stained by the inspector," he said. According to him, the victim claimed that the incident happened for almost 30 minutes and after that he was asked by the police officer to put his clothes back on and was also told that the case had not been completed and was ordered to return for investigation.

"Following on from that, the victim who had not attended school came forward to make a police report regarding the incident three days after it happened and he was also called to the IPD to testify. "The teenage girl has also been taken to the hospital for examination and a police team from the forensic unit that conducted an investigation at the scene of the incident also found traces of what is believed to be semen on the sheets and pillowcases," he said.
