The 1975’s Matty Healy says Harry Styles declined and rejected his invitation to perform at his concert: “It was a firm no.”

The 1975’s Matty Healy says Harry Styles declined his invitation to perform at his concert:

“It was a firm no.” During the height of their fame, One Direction worked with a few different names. In particular, 1D worked with singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson on a song tailor-made for their album, Up All Night. After that, the band looked into working with some different acts, including some rock bands. This line-up of potential work partners included The 1975.
The record also won them the Best British Group Award at the Brit Awards, giving them some further recognition.

So when singer and songwriter of the band, Matty Healy, was approached by 1D to work together he was ecstatic.

Matty told the BBC: “One Direction were doing some recording in London, they were really into our album.

“So they invited me to come down and said: ‘Let’s work on a tune.' I was like kerching! Free money!”

However excited Matty was to work with the pop group, he wasn’t entirely prepared for their meeting.

He continued: “I turned up and I didn’t know if I had anything.”

The British group appeared on BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show on Wednesday (March 26) and they took part in Nick Grimshaw's Call Or Delete game.

They tried to phone up Niall Horan to prank him - but it rang to voicemail, so they called up Grimshaw's pal Harry Styles instead.

Healy's prank was that he needed an emergency loan of £5,000, ($8,318) with the musician saying:

"Basically I need five grand. I'm in Chalk Farm and I'm having an emergency...it's actually quite a serious situation. I've got two guys in here in a phonebox with me, one of them just keeps pointing at a photo of Mark Owen, it's really weird I don't know what that means, and it's really threatening. Do you reckon you could get Niall to come down and sort me the cash?"

Styles replied: "Okay, well we're in Bristol. But let me go and I'll get my assistant to call you and she'll sort it out."

Healy meanwhile was recently pictured with One Direction - but Harry Styles wasn't in the photo.
