Ex footballer and presenter #MicahRichards has revealed how much he pays for a haircut: £200 per trim, 3 times a week, meaning he pays his barber £31k a year!!
Thierry Henry was left flabbergasted as fellow pundit Micah Richards revealed how much he spends on haircuts during Tuesday's Champions League coverage.
The CBS Sports coverage is known for providing amusing moments and fans received another one as Europe's premier club competition returned.
The shock in the studio only increased when Richards was asked how much each visit costs.
'What does my barber cost? £200 a time yes. When I say the most, like I'll get a trim tomorrow for the Champions League and I'm working the weekend so I'll get a trim.
'I did it today. I've got to get a sharpen up tomorrow.'
Abdo then went on to explain that three haircuts a week at that price equates to over £31,000 a year though Richards insisted it was only during punditry weeks.
Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher was equally as bemused, saying: 'two haircuts in two days? Messi hasn't even got a goal ratio like that.'
Henry did not let up, asking 'Micah, what is the purpose?'.
'I've got to look sharp,' he responded. 'You know when you look good you're able to perform.'
The trio, with host Kate Abdo, were analysing the evening’s two Champions League fixtures: AC Milan vs Tottenham, and Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich.
Milan striker Olivier Giroud was interviewed after his side’s 1-0 win over Spurs and the Frenchman’s pristine hair was compared to Richards’.
The 34-year-old confessed that he spends an eye-watering £200 every time he has his hair cut.
Abdo said: “So, you’re spending £600 a week on your hair?”
Richards, attempting to justify himself, said: “I’ll get a trim tomorrow for the Champions League and I’m working the weekend, so I’ll get another trim. And I got one today.”
Carragher then said: “Two haircuts in two days? Messi hasn’t even got a goal ratio like that!
Richards confirmed: “Tomorrow, yes.”
The pundit also said that he pays the money, rather than his employers.
Asked why he gets such an expensive haircut so regularly by Henry, Richards said: “I’ve got to look sharp. When you look good, you’re able to perform.”
Abdo then explained to Richards: “If you did the maths on that, £600 a week times 52 weeks in a year, it was £31,000 a year. Let’s say it’s half of that, that’s £15,000. Do you think you need to rethink your choices?”
