The accident happened on R71 road next to Gravelotte on Wednesday night, 2 vehicles a white Toyota Hilux and police van, collided with an elephant.
The elephant died on the scene.
Four people were injured after the vehicles they were travelling in collided with an elephant in Limpopo on Wednesday night.
ER24 reported that two bakkies collided with the elephant on the R71 outside Gravelotte. When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the elephant lying in the road, with the bakkies a short distance away.

Four men and a woman sustained minor to moderate injuries, but unfortunately, the elephant succumbed to its injuries. Limpopo transport and community safety department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said a white Toyota LDV and a white Toyota Hilux LDV, one of which was a police van, were involved in the accident.
"Five people, including the two drivers, sustained minor injuries. [But] there were no fatalities," said Chuene.
Kruger National Park spokesperson Ike Phaahla said he was unsure if the elephant was from the park.
