“Stop doing wifey duties for your boyfriend. I didn’t cook or clean for my man and he married me” – Christabel Egbenya advises ladies

“Stop doing wifey duties for your boyfriend. I didn’t cook or clean for my man and he married me” – Christabel Egbenya advises ladies.

In an encounter with Saturday Sun, Egbenya said: “A whole lot has changed since I had my baby. Now, I really know what motherhood is all about. A lot of things changed about me; about my life, the way I reason and the way I see things. Bringing another soul to life is something else. It has taught me a whole lot of lessons. Ever since I had my baby, my mentality, my reasoning has changed. You know, you have to give your children time; you have to check up on them, you have to take care of them. Even if you have nannies and other people around you, you won’t be comfortable, you’d still want to show them that mother’s love. That bond is something else, I just don’t know how to explain it.”

However, the mother of one has revealed how she ended up marrying one of her fans and why she won’t reject any role because of her marital status.

“I don’t think I’ll reject any role because my husband loves my movies so much. He is in support of me working for people and producing my movies, because he loves to see me act. He was actually my fan before we got married. Normally, I don’t do bad roles. We don’t actually do all those kissing and smooching in Nigerian movies anymore,” the actress stated.

Advising women to always be honest in their relationships, Egbenya said, “If you did something (extramarital affair) outside and got pregnant, and you feel you need to open up to your husband, go ahead and talk to him. There are some men that might be comfortable with such situation, and won’t mind the woman keeping the child. It is wrong to hide such information from one’s partner.

“If the man wants to undertake the raising of the child; that is fine. After all, men go outside their marriages to have kids, and come back to plead with their wives.”

The actress also urged married men to cut off from irresponsible friends, who might want to lead them into getting into extra-marital affairs. She added, “You should cut them off. It is marriage we are talking about; not dating.”
