Jonathan Majors was arrested this weekend in New York on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment after allegedly assaulting a woman, TMZ reports.

He denies the allegations. Actor Jonathan Majors — who plays the Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and recently starred in Creed 3 — was arrested in New York City Saturday morning under charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment.

A spokesperson from the New York Police Department's Deputy Commissioner of Public Information confirmed Majors' arrest to IGN and shared the following statement:

“On Saturday, March 25, 2023 at approximately 1114 hours, police responded to 911 call... A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30 year-old female. The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”

IGN received a statement from Majors' representatives, which reads, "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up." Majors' relationship to the woman is currently unknown.

A representative for Majors denied any wrongdoing by the actor.
"He has done nothing wrong," the representative said in an email to the AP on Saturday. "We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

Majors is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood. After breaking through in 2019's "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," Majors has starred in "Da 5 Bloods," "The Harder They Fall" and last year's "Devotion." He also stars in the recent Sundance Film Festival entry "Magazine Dreams," which Searchlight Pictures is to release in December.

A representative for Majors told The Hollywood Reporter that "“He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”

Majors grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from Duncanville High School.

Along with the recently released "Creed III" and Ant-Man films, the 33-year-old also starred on the TV show "Lovecraft Country" and made his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the "Loki" TV series.
