An MACC source has told the Malay Mail that Kee Kok Thiam, a 1MDB suspect who informed officials of Jho Low's whereabouts, has died

An MACC source has told the Malay Mail that Kee Kok Thiam, a 1MDB suspect who informed officials of Jho Low's whereabouts, has died.

His obituary had been making rounds.

"I can just say yes, it’s him. But I can’t confirm anything else," they said.

Another source says the person named in the obituary, is the same person MACC detained.

Malay Mail reports, that Kee is believed to have died of sudden illness.

Meanwhile, NST reports that his family will be issuing a statement on the matter.

MACC reportedly believes that the individuals wanted for the 1MDB case, especially fugitive businessman Jho Low, are in Macau.

It said in a written response to Al Jazeera, that several individuals have seen Low in the city. The MACC is working to repatriate eight fugitives, including Jho Low, who are linked to the 1MDB scandal, according to Utusan Malaysia.

A source claims, based on initial information, they were believed to be hiding in Macau, China and Thailand.
