BIRTHDAY DINNER: James Charles posts photo of his birthday cake referencing his infamous feud with Tati Westbrook

James Charles posts photo of his birthday cake referencing his infamous feud with Tati Westbrook.

The inscription reads: "And you did it at my birthday dinner."

Before I get into the weeds, I’d like to point out that while YouTube drama is pretty common these days (there are even hundreds of “drama channels” dedicated to it), few feuds make it as far into the mainstream as this one has. What started as a tiff over vitamins has turned into something way bigger—and way more serious, especially now that Tati posted another 40-minute video and lawyers are involved.

Before his viral fame, a couple of outlets highlighted James as a member of the “beauty boys” community, but it was really his yearbook photo that launched him into the public eye. He caught the attention of major makeup companies and soon became CoverGirl’s first-ever CoverBoy. He literally made history.

Tati Westbrook officially cut ties with James Charles in a now-famous video titled "Bye Sister." The veteran beauty guru was very close with James since the beginning of his career, but decided to cut ties out over an ad James did on his Instagram Stories.

The drama started after James promoted SugarBearHair, a hair vitamin company. Tati got upset after hearing the news, because she owns her own hair vitamin brand, Halo Beauty. Tati posted her own Instagram Stories talking about how upset she is over her friend using another brand's products. James publicly apologized for the incident, but Tati wasn't ready to forgive him.
