Critic Robert Brian Taylor calls these movies part of "The Sad Action Hero canon." Chris Hemsworth is its most notable new member. He plays Tyler Rake—a young boy's idea for an action hero name, but Hemsworth makes him seem almost like a real person. He's a tremendous physical actor, possibly as good as Schwarzenegger and Stallone in their primes, but with more range. He's played a scheming male bimbo, a legendary computer hacker, a depressed mercenary, a 19th-century whaler, a cult leader, and the mighty Thor, all convincingly. He's got a bit of the young Sean Connery's self-aware swagger as well. But there's also a buried sadness to him, and that's what the "Extraction" films dig out.

The Extraction franchise is returning to Netflix this weekend with its second hard-hitting installment. Sam Hargrave's highly anticipated action thriller, Extraction 2, is not only poised to be a big hit for Netflix, it's also getting much better reviews than the first movie. Critics have screened Extraction 2, and some movie fans in Los Angeles have seen the film on the big screen, and most people in both groups are agreeing that the sequel is far superior to its predecessor.

As of Thursday afternoon, Extraction 2 boasts a higher critic and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes than the original Extraction. The first film, released in 2020, has a 67% critic score and a 70% from audience members. With nearly 50 reviews so far, Extraction 2 has an 81% from critics, while the audience score currently sits at 84%.

Viewers overwhelmingly hailed the high-octane 21-minute long single-shot action sequence, which sees Tyler take on multiple enemies in impressive fashion. One fan gushed on Twitter, “Hot dang #Extraction2 is great! It outdoes its predecessor with its relentless action, improved story, and a 21min one-shot sequence that truly blew me away.”

Another viewer remarked, “Had a great time with this. I enjoyed the first one just fine, but this one definitely upped the game in every single way.” Many fans praised the continuous single shot sequence, which took place in the prison courtyard, describing it as “12 good minutes of pure fire.”

The internet sensation famous for remaking multimillion dollar movie trailers and music videos with basic household items recreated a low-budget trailer of Hemsworth’s blockbuster film bedazzling everyone who’s viewed it including the Australian actor.

Fans of the Netflix film Extraction 2 have praised Chris Hemsworth‘s performance and the “wild” action scenes in the movie. Released on Friday, the film is a direct sequel to the 2020 action thriller and has received positive feedback from viewers who expressed that it is better than the first movie.

In the film, Chris Hemsworth plays Tyler Rake, who barely survived after being critically wounded during a mission in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Joining his team, the character takes on their next mission as the plot unfolds. Overseen and conceived by the Russo Brothers of Marvel fame, the "Extraction" films are an example of a dwindling breed: the big-budget, super-violent adventure. Whether the main character is named John Rambo, Jason Bourne or John Wick, he's a variant on a type: the prolific killer who'd prefer not to kill anymore but keeps getting pushed back into it. He has a tragic past and is grieving over it. And he's played by a guy who's so ferocious in violent scenes that you'd believe that he could take 100 blows to the head, face, and torso, plus a gunshot, a knife wound, and a grenade concussion, and keep going.

After perfecting the recreated Hollywood thriller version, the Ikorodu Bois shared it on the social media platforms, imploring the public to tag Netflix as well as the lead actor, Chris Hemsworth.

Hours later, Netflix retweeted their post accompanied with the caption: ‘Love this.’
