British singer-songwriter and performer, J Hus, has released a brand new track titled "Who Told You". This incredible song is a must-have addition to your playlist, showcasing J Hus' unique style and talent.
Dave and Central Cee’s spry Sprinter released last week – the most-streamed song in a single day in 2023 so far, on Spotify in the UK – felt like the first proper contender with its guitar wafting like a warm breeze, but can a song with the line “this gyal want me in her uterus” ever really have the requisite carefree vibe? It’s all academic now anyway: nothing is likely to be as potently, Cornetto-ly summery this season as Who Told You, the new single from east London rapper J Hus, with Drake, the patron saint of the summer jam, dropping in to guest.
“Who told you bad man don’t dance?” J Hus asks at the outset, making those pseudo-hard blokes you see in the club, performatively standing stock still while eking out a Corona, look very silly indeed. His song goes on to be about the very pleasure of dancing, in particular dancing close to someone hot, a chief joy of summer.
The production of "Who Told You" was expertly handled by the talented Nigerian Producer, P2J, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
Drake loves UK rap and the culture around it — “One Dance,” for example, shouted out UK funky house, and he’s frequently linked up with the likes of Dave, Skepta, Giggs, and of course J Hus, who joined Drake on his 2019 UK tour. Now, it’s the latter rapper — J Hus — who is in the spotlight again, as rumors are circulating that he and Drake are set to drop a new track together today.
Titled “Who Told You,” the track pulls heavily from J Hus’ afroswing sounds, something the Stratford, London-born-and-bred rapper has pioneered.
