Saudi Arabian clubs are eyeing Sadio Mane

Saudi Arabian clubs are eyeing Sadio Mane.

Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr FC in January 2023, over a month after his contract termination with Manchester United. Since the Portuguese superstar's move, more eyes have been focused on the Saudi Pro League across the globe.

Having finished second in the 2022 Ballon d'Or ranking behind only Karim Benzema, though, Mane's stock seems to still be high as he has no shortage of potential suitors amid his worrisome situation under Thomas Tuchel in Munich.

He has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United reported to be interested, with the latter having sealed a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2002/23.

Now, according to Fichajes, Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal have made an approach to sign the west African superstar. The Saudi Arabian government is now looking to build on this fame. As per CBS journalist Ben Jacobs (via BILD), they have a list of 20 stars they want to sign in the summer. Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane is one of the names on the list.

The Saudi Arabian government hasn't yet decided on the specific club for the Senegalese forward if he does join. They will look to spread star signings over multiple top clubs for marketing and competitive reasons. However, it is further claimed that the 2022 CAF African Footballer of the Year is not keen on the move, and wants to regain Bayern's confidence in his services and fight for his place in the team next season instead.

Per the same report, Al Hilal are also interested in signing Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard, although it is understood that the Belgian intends to see out his deal, which expires in June next year, in Madrid.
