Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have gone their separate ways after just 14 months of marriage, after he reportedly confronted her with cheating allegations.
The 41-year-old singer and the 29-year-old actor have split after a “nuclear argument” during which Asghari confronted Spears over rumours she had been unfaithful, according to TMZ.
It’s not known whether those rumours are true - but they led to a “huge fight” between the pair.
A source told the outlet that Asghari has moved out of their home and is now living in his own place. Britney's estranged family - including her controversial parents Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears - were reportedly uninvited.
The marriage came shortly after the pair endured a heartbreaking miscarriage with their first child together.
The singer first announced that she was expecting in April 2022 in a social media post saying she had thought she gained a food baby while on vacation but took a test and it turned out she was pregnant.
A short while later, the couple announced in a joint statement that they had experienced a pregnancy loss.
'It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,' the couple said Saturday. 'This is a devastating time for any parent.
'Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult time.'
The split reveal comes just three days after Spears posted a concerning and raunchy video with her Instagram fans after buying a new stripper pole.
The Toxic singer, who regularly wears revealing bikinis on social media, showed off her pole skills while Nine Inch Nails' X-rated song Closer played in the background.
The track, written by Trent Reznor and featured on the 1994 album The Downward Spiral, has been described by fans as a meditation on self-hatred and obsession.
Lyrics to the controversial song include the infamous line, 'I want to f*** you like an animal.'
'Got this pole two days ago and last night was my first time on it,' the 41-year-old captioned the post adding three shrugging emojis and three red rose emojis.
Back in June Asghari shared a series of loved up posts marking the couple's first wedding anniversary and branding Britney his 'better half.'
He also shared a montage of their June 9 2022 wedding day, calling the star 'the woman of my dreams.'
Neither Spears nor Asghari have publicly commented on the breakup report yet.
Spears’ last Instagrams have been fashion and dance-focused. Asghari posted two weeks ago about his mother recovering from an accident and announced he would be taking a social media break.
“I’m so Grateful for the love and support you guys had during Mama Asghari’s recovery after the accident,” he shared. “Sending a huge thank you to the amazing medical staff at Cedars-Sinai ER. Moments like these remind us of life’s preciousness. Taking a social media break to prioritize what truly matters. See you very soon.”
Asghari believed the rumor, although the outlet noted that it was unclear whether it was actually rooted in fact. The accusation led to a huge fight and Asghari moved out of their house into his own place. One source told TMZ, “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.” Spears has a prenuuo.
