CAUSE OF DEATH: Legendary wrestler, Terry Funk, confirmed dead

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Legendary wrestler, Terry Funk, confirmed dead.

According to a journalist on Reddit, confirmed that Terry Funk passed away after undisclosed illness - (cause of death).

Wrestling legend Terry Funk has passed away at the age of 79. The news was first revealed by Ric Flair in a post on X.

“In my entire life, I’ve never met a guy who worked harder. Terry Funk was a great wrestler, entertainer, unbelievably fearless, and a great friend,” Flair wrote. “Rest in peace my friend Terry Funk knowing that no one will ever replace you in the world of professional wrestling!”

Funk was suffering from dementia over the past few years.

Funk started his wrestling career in 1965 and wrestled for countless promotions around the world throughout his long and illustrious career, including WWE, WCW, AJPW, NWA, and of course ECW.

The news first surfaced via another WWE Legend, Don Muraco. On Don Muraco's Magnificent Podcast, Muraco announced that he'd heard Terry Funk was suffering from dementia and was currently living in an assisted living facility. PWInsider.com went on to report the same news, saying that Funk had been suffering from dementia-related issues for some time but that his condition had gotten progressively worse in the past year. Both sources stated Funk's condition seemed to get worse following the passing of his wife, Vicki Funk, who died in March of 2019.

While Terry Funk's current health status isn't explicitly known, it's sad news for many wrestling fans who remember his scores of memorable matches dating from the '60s to the late 2000s. In his prime, Funk was known for more extreme types of matches, many of which included barbed wire. Funk would get bloodied up on the barbed wire and other objects and is generally considered to be one of the best "hardcore" wrestlers in the business.
