2022 was the year when Chamberlain had that iconic exchange with Jack Harlow. On the red carpet, Chamberlain interviewed Harlow, and after chatting, the two went their separate ways, but not before he said “Love ya! Bye!” and she responded with, “Love ya!” It’s been two years since that interaction, and I still think about it today.
This year's no different! Etienne Haro, general manager of The Mark, tells PEOPLE exclusively that they're expecting around 60 celebrity guests on May 6 in addition to their respective talent and glam teams. Previous guests on Met Gala day include Cardi B, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade and Gigi Hadid.
"The Mark is booked out well ahead of Met Gala day," he says, noting that the hotel's sales team starts "receiving enquiries from the moment the annual theme is revealed." (The Met Gala’s theme for 2024, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” was announced back in November 2023.)
The Mark is located just four blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It has served as a lavish venue for celebrities, designers, and their glam squads to perfect their looks before they grace the museum's famous steps and step inside to the Anna Wintour-hosted event.
The hotel is at 25 East 77th Street, at the intersection of 77th Street and Madison Avenue on New York's Upper East Side. Its area is conveniently located near Manhattan's hotspots, including the Met and Central Park. In addition, there are several art galleries, cafés, and high-end boutiques nearby.
The day has finally arrived, Met Gala Monday. Once a year, on the first of May, fashion’s biggest event takes place, and all your favorite celebrities attend. This year, the Met Gala is being hosted by Anna Wintour, and co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth. While people have mixed feelings about the co-chairs, there’s one person who fans really want to host the Met Gala red carpet, and it’s none other than everybody’s favorite coffee addict, Emma Chamberlain.
Chamberlain is truly a fashion icon and she’s made that known through her appearances at big fashion events like Paris Fashion Week, and of course, the Met Gala. She made her Met Gala debut in 2021 wearing a gold Louis Vuitton mini-dress. She was also Vogue’s correspondent for the event and interviewed all the celebrities on the red carpet. She was contagious to watch, and people loved her so much that Vogue invited her back to fill the same role in 2022 and 2023.
