Lusaka driver, SMART PHIRI, charged with attempted murder

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Police in Lusaka have charged and arrested a Lusaka driver for attempted murder after he almost ran over a traffic police officer on Lumumba-Kafue Road traffic lights. 

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE says the 29-year-old driver identified as SMART PHIRI of Kamwala South was driving a Hino Ranger truck on Tuesday when he disobeyed traffic signals and drove on almost hitting the officer.

Mr. MWALE says the officer in trying to save his life, jumped on to the front bull bar and swung for some time while the Hino truck was still in motion as seen in a video that has gone viral on social media.
